What inspired you to get involved with AAU?
Having three young children of my own, the gift of being a father is indescribable and one that is not to be taken for granted. I cannot imagine what these families are facing, but I want to do what is necessary to allow them the ability to concentrate on just being a family during a very difficult time. AAU is focused on assisting with the unforeseen burdens that unfortunately are presented during this time period and the organization is truly committed to making a difference in their lives. I want to do my part.

What are you looking forward to most about serving on the AAU board?
I am most looking forward to seeing firsthand the impact that AAU has on the children and their families and being a part of making a positive difference in their lives.

What vacation destination is at the top of your bucket list?

My wife would say Bora Bora, but I am not good at laying around for an extended period of time and I really enjoy historical sites.  Taking a trip to Europe and visiting WWII sites such as Normandy, Belgium, Berlin, and Austria would be a bucket list adventure.

One of your favorite local restaurants?

Living in central Nebraska, you cannot find a better steak than what is served at The Speakeasy.  However, growing up north of Fremont, I am still sad that Grandmothers restaurant is no longer present in Omaha.  They had the best onion rings!

When you think about your legacy, what is most important to you?

A legacy that reflects a person with strong integrity that was always kind to those around him.  Someone that helped make this world a better place to be and most importantly, I want my kids to be proud that I was their father.
