Finnley’s Journey

On December 30, 2024, four-year-old Finnley was diagnosed with Stage IV Wilms Tumor, a rare and aggressive form of kidney cancer. Just days later, on January 2, 2025, she underwent major surgery to remove the affected kidney and tumor. During the procedure, doctors discovered that the cancer had also spread to her lungs.

After recovering from surgery, Finnley began an intensive treatment plan that included both chemotherapy and radiation. Initially, she responded well—her hospital stays were limited, and she continued to enjoy the things she loved, living life with the energy and spirit of a typical young child.

However, in late March, after receiving an in-patient chemotherapy treatment, Finnley became seriously ill due to complications from blood and platelet transfusions. She developed a dangerous fluid overload, which caused damage to her remaining kidney. As a result, she endured multiple hospitalizations and significant delays in her cancer treatments. Her remaining kidney now functions at only 30%, and she will eventually require dialysis and a kidney transplant.

Despite everything, Finnley remains a spunky, vibrant, and sassy little girl, full of love and determination. She finds joy in arts and crafts, playing at the park, and wrestling with her younger brother, Stanley. Having her parents constantly by her side during treatments and hospital stays has been a source of comfort, made possible by the support of Angels Among Us. Finnley still faces a long and challenging journey ahead, but her strength and spirit continue to shine through every step of the way.
