Sylvi’s Story…
Sylvi was 3 years old when she was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in 2024. She is now in the middle of her 2 1/2 year treatment plan and is scheduled to take her last dose of chemotherapy in July 2026. Since diagnosis, she has endured 12 spinal taps, 20 days in-patient, 4 ER visits and almost 50 infusion clinic visits. Fortunately, she continues to respond well to treatment. She is the youngest sister of three and has just started kindergarten. Some of her favorite things to do are hang out with her brother and sister, swim, dance and play pretend.
Angels Among Us has been the support we didn’t know we needed. Sylvi’s treatment has changed our ability to work consistently at our full-time jobs. The financial assistance continues to provide stability for our family by paying our mortgage. The emotional programming, both for kids and adults, is our favorite part of the organization. From making charcuterie boards to attending the annual family picnic, the programming has allowed us all to have fun despite the challenging circumstances. We are honored to be members of the AAU family!
